Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that you recently created a new article or made changes to one by adding material copied from a book, magazine, newspaper or another website without the permission of the copyright holder. Many sources, including websites found on the Internet, are copyrighted. I'm afraid Wikipedia cannot accept any material copied from such sources as it can get into serious legal trouble. The article or changes have been or will soon be deleted. Next time, look up sources to find out information for articles and explain it in your own words, and don't copy sentences or images from them. Thank you. Copyright[change source]

Hi Chelseaphil1970, thanks for your email. There is no problem in trying to write an article about your village. I look forward to reading it. The problem is that on the Wikipedia we are not allowed to copy material from other websites. When you created the article about Bishopsteignton, it was copied from another website [1]. This is not allowed under the copyright laws. You can read the Simple English Wikipedia rules about copyright here. On this Wikipedia, this means that the article would be quickly deleted. You can read our rules for quick deletion here. To write an article on Bishopsteignton, do it in your own words. You can use the information from other websites and books, but you cannot copy them. When you use a website or book for information, you should add that as a citation.

If you need more information, or would like help in creating articles, please leave a message on my talk page. --Peterdownunder (talk) 12:30, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bishopsteignton[change source]

Looking at the information you have so far your article could go something like this:

Bishopsteignton is a historic village in the River Teign Valley, in Devon, England. It is close to the town of Teignmouth. The first Bishop of Exeter had his palace in Bishopsteignton, and the ruins of the building can still be seen. The village has a brewery and a vineyard. Other attractions include the Village Museum.

Words like "delightful" are regarded as an opinion, and are not usually used in an encyclopedia. A phrase like "...it's worth timing your visit..." are in the first person, and should also not be used in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia writing is impersonal, and relies on provable facts. So to say that it is unusual to have both a vineyard and a brewery would need some kind of proof. Where I come from it would not be that unusual at all. Good luck with writing an article. If you want to add photos, these must come from the Wikimedia Commons [2], which has lots of photos to use, such as:
