The Vikings needed all the energy that they could get in the form of fat – especially in winter. Meat, fish, vegetables, cereals and milk products were all an important part of their diet. Sweet food was consumed in the form of berries, fruit and honey. In England the Vikings were often described as gluttonous.

Viking home life was simple but comfortable. They often had houses that were made of wattle-and-daub (woven branches and clay), with roofs of turf or tiles made from wood or stone. Other materials they used included logs, planks, stone, and earth.

They died and got buried. NK and LF Elmclass2023 (talk) 12:49, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Norse funerals or the burial costumes of Viking Age North Germanic Norsemen (early medieval Scandinavians), are know both from archaeology.
It was common to leave gifts with the deceased. Both men and women received grave goods, even if the corpse was to be burnt on a pyre. A Norseman could also be buried with a loved one or house thrall, or cremated together on a funeral pyre.

The Vikings most likely married into Anglo-Saxon families Elmclass2023 (talk) 12:54, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Most Anglo-Saxons were farmers and lived off the land. They were able to make equipment such as ploughs and tools to help them in their work. They would grind wheat to make flour so they could make bread. Some Anglo-Saxons were skilled craftsmen who made decorative jewellery such as brooches and necklaces.
