Hi Mythdon, please save your energy for editing and don't bother to talk with the vandals. I am still good for a few more blocks :)--Peterdownunder (talk) 07:02, 29 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I concur. WP:DENY, DFTT and WP:RBI all ring true here. Promethean (talk) 07:15, 29 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Quick Deletion tag

Hi Mythdon and thanks for tagging bad articles for quick deletion. Could you please not replace the content (unless it is particularly offensive) when tagging? Please just add the tag at the top. This makes it easier for an admin to evaluate whether the page is correctly tagged and delete it, without having to look at the previous revision in the page history. Thanks! EhJJTALK 01:55, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You're most certainly welcome! As for removing the content when tagging, I do that because I feel the content should not be there, though I can see how not removing it makes it easier for administrators to review the appropriateness of the page. If it were an attack page, should the content be removed? —Mythdon [talk] [changes] 01:57, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
In the event of an attack page, you are welcome to blank the page first (as far as I'm concerned). Admins should review the history before deleting, to make sure it isn't a good article that got replaced with vandalism, but we usually just check to see the number of edits. If there's only two edits (one vandalism, one QD tag) and we've already read the page with the QD tag, it saves us a few steps in reviewing the old revision. There's nothing wrong with what you're doing, but common practice is to add the tag without removing the content and wait for an admin to delete the page. Thanks again! Question

What are you doing? You're flooding Recent Changes, by the way. --Bsadowski1 04:55, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tagging articles with Template:Nosources and Template:Refimprove at high speed. I was using one tab, then two, and now three. Do you have a problem with that? —Mythdon [talk] [changes] 04:56, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, I don't have a problem. But you are flooding CVN with your edits. Perhaps you should have the bot/flood flag temporarily? --Bsadowski1 05:00, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I don't want a bot, and I certainly don't want the flood flag. —Mythdon [talk] [changes] 05:02, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No offense, but I would still request that you hold off, request a flood flag, and wait until you have one. By flooding the RC you are making it harder for other users. The flood flag (like the auto patroller flag) is not for YOU it's for others. Jamesofur (talk) 05:05, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, then what would happen if someone finds my actions problematic? They wouldn't find them in recent changes. I wouldn't use the flood flag just to unflood new changes. —Mythdon [talk] [changes] 05:07, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I will personally go through all of them for you if you'd like. You get the flood flag when your going to do a lot of uncontroversial actions (like tagging articles that obviously don't have any refs). Obviously you should not have it to do anything that people would find a problem, its a short term flag that you ask to get taken off when your done it doesn't do anything retroactively. Jamesofur (talk) 05:19, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I don't want it right now. But I'll hold off for now. With the flood flag, do you flood changes manually, or is it automatic (i.e. you can never have your edits seen in new changes)? You can review all of my taggings; it's up to you. —Mythdon [talk] [changes] 05:22, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You get the flag temporarily, while you have the flag your changes don't show in new changes by default (but if someone clicks the show bot edits button they will show). When your done you ask the crat to take the flag off and any changes you do from then on will show in new changes again. Jamesofur (talk) 05:30, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I don't want it right now, and speaking of flooding (which we discuss in this section), my watchlist was flooded with my taggings. Thus, I have blanked my watchlist, and I am currently in the process of re-adding the important pages. —Mythdon [talk] [changes] 05:32, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

<-Get the bot flag before you go tagging, and don't tag stubs. Listen to someone who has made the mistake before. Griffinofwales (talk) 17:24, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2nd sandbox

This was incorrect. It's actually another sandbox. I have undone your edit. Griffinofwales (talk) 03:53, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Wasn't aware that I was reverting a legitimate edit. I suppose I should look at the page before judging the edit itself next time. I certainly didn't consider it vandalism, but in fact a test edit. My perception that it was a test edit was correct, based on the fact that the page is a sandbox. —Mythdon [talk] [changes] 03:56, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's happened to me before. That's how I knew it was a sandbox. No harm. Griffinofwales (talk) 04:02, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
So somebody undid a revert of a test edit you made to that page, and then approached you on your talk page that your revert was incorrect? Unless I am not understanding your comment, I get that you are saying that. —Mythdon [talk] [changes] 04:20, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Also this was incorrect. Scream knew what he was doing, and I agreed with the revert. On a side note, come on IRC sometime(#wikipedia-simple). Griffinofwales (talk) 16:38, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You're a bit late for this warning. Please see User talk:Pmlinediter#Sorry for my apology and acknowledgment of my error. Thank you. —Mythdon [talk] [changes] 16:44, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please

Let the admins do their jobs. They already know what to do and really do not need to be told. They have an admin list that you can't see where this has already been brought up and they have more knowledge of the user Samlaptop than you do. You've been asked before, please take it on board. Thanks! :) fr33kman talk 04:50, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How am I not letting the administrators do their jobs, and telling them what to do? —Mythdon [talk] [changes] 20:06, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
