You could make some section a little bit easier to under stand or explain a bit further. e.g. "Since the length of the wave is determined by the frequency, the group also tried to use frequencies in the GHz range." -explain that higher frequency means lower wave length
At some points in the text it sounds a bit rocky so just read over it and fill in some articles. Links to other Wikipedia entries are also missing which could replace some of the needed explanations. Some pictures could also help to support your explanation of the technology.

As far as simplicity goes, I think this covers the topic well. There is some missing grammatical work: filling in nouns or verb tenses could be looked at again. You may want to add some more links to other articles on wikipedia. It would help any readers familiarize themselves with the concepts inherent in the entire field. In the last paragraph of history, form should be from.
Overall, this article is very informative, and approaches the information in an effective way. Besides some basic grammatical work, the content is very good.
