Vinctifer is an extinct genus of prehistoric bony fish. It was erected by David Starr Jordan in 1919. It could exceed 60 cm. It is a member of the extinct order Aspidorhynchiformes.

Fossils of Vinctifer have been found in Brazil, Mexico, Venezuela, and Antarctica.

Description[change | change source]

Vinctifer possessed an elongated body and did not have a supramaxilla. The mandible was robust and triangular.
