Wayne Yates
Wayne Edward Yates (November 7, 1937 – August 16, 2022) was an American professional basketball player and coach. He played 37 games for the Los Angeles Lakers in one National Basketball Association (NBA) season from 1961 to 1962. He later worked as a college basketball coach. This career lasted from 1969 to 1985. He coached the Memphis Tigers and the Northwestern State Demons. Yates was born in Gurdon, Arkansas.
Yates died on August 16, 2022 in Natchitoches, Louisiana at the age of 84.[1]
