Yorgos Lanthimos (/ˈlænθɪmoʊs/; Greek: Γιώργος Λάνθιμος[1] [ˈʝorɣos ˈlanθimos]; born 23 September 1973) is a Greek movie director, producer and screenwriter. He has won a BAFTA Award and a Golden Globe Award as well as nominations for five Academy Awards.

Lanthimos first became known for directing Dogtooth (2009), which was nominated for the Academy Award for Best International Film. Lanthimos later directed the black comedy The Lobster (2015), which earned him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.
He is known for his works with actress Emma Stone. They both worked together in The Favourite (2018) and Poor Things (2023). He received nominations for the Academy Award for Best Director and Best Picture for both movies.

Lanthimos is married to Greek-French actress Ariane Labed.[2] They were married in 2013.[3][4] They live in Athens.[5][6]
