I'm just curious. Is the date of the log supposed to be when the person first asked for it to be deleted, when the last post on it was written, or when it was actually deleted? I realize that our rule says to give it only a week, but sometimes these things take longer (and since weeks cross months). -- Ricky81682 (talk) 20:30, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Problems with vote results vs. action taken[change source]

I take issue with two things which happened to articles requested for deletion in February. For "Encyclopaedia Dramatica", I count two keeps and two deletes, one of them weak. Yet the article was deleted. That is far from consensus to delete. If anything, it is consensus to keep.

The other is the Simple English Dictionary article. Here again, I count two keeps and two deletes (counting Netoholic's comment as a keep vote, which he/she never technically identified as such), plus one move and delete. One of the keep voters even mentioned that he would change his vote if/when SEWiktionary became a viable replacement. Again, if there is a majority, it is for delete. Yet the article was kept. What is going on here? Can anyone (like Netoholic) please explain why the vote was apparently ignored in favor of doing with the articles what he/she wanted to do with them? This is intended to be a democracy, right? --Cromwellt|talk 17:23, 19 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not a democracy and simple vote-counting does not equate to consensus. SE Wikipedia is gradually moving in a clearer direction - a move that is necessary to meet the goal set by the Foundation - to be a free, high-quality encyclopedia written in simple English. -- Netoholic @ 15:42, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Order of sections[change source]

I don't think it matters much whether the newest entries are at the top or the bottom (perhaps having them at the top would be more logical), but let's stick with one style. I'll move the newest entry to the bottom in accordance with the current style. --Cromwellt|talk 23:07, 17 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to reverse the order of this page, so that newer deletions are at the top. If there is no objection in a few days, I'll do it. We can always change it back. --Cromwellt|talk|contris 02:17, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
