Blau-Weiß Linz, the champion of the 2nd league, voluntarily gave up promotion.[7] FC Liefering as farm teams of FC Red Bull Salzburg was not allowed to promote. The 3rd of the Second league, SK Austria Klagenfurt played 2 relegation matches versus SKN St. Pölten.
