Brookhaven National Laboratory is a laboratory in the United States at Long Island, New York. It is on the former location of Camp Upton, a US army camp. It was opened in 1947. It is in the greater area of the town of Brookhaven. Its motto is "Passion for discovery".

It was originally owned by the Atomic Energy Commission. It is now owned by the US Department of Energy. It has about 3000 people working there.

Several people there have gotten Nobel Prizes.
