Colorado Territory

Colorado territory was a territory of the United States. It existed between 1861 and 1876. In 1876, it was admitted to the United States, and became the state of Colorado. Between 1858 and 1861, there was the Pike's Peak gold rush. The territory was created as a result of that gold rush. When it was created, it was created slave-free.
