Communist Party of Vietnam

The Communist Party of Vietnam is the political party that controls Vietnam.

The Party was founded as the Indochinese Communist Party in 1921 by Ho Chi Minh. Ho led the party to power in 1945 until 1954, when the country was divided into two at the Geneva Conference. After 1954 the Party ruled only North Vietnam until 1975, when the Party once again ruled over a united Vietnam.
