John 3:16 (chapter 3, verse 16 of the Gospel of John) is a verse from the Christian Bible.[1] It has been called the "Gospel in a nutshell."[2] It is also thought to be one of the most important doctrines of Christianity:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
