List of popes from the Tusculum family

The List of popes from the Tusculum family includes several names.[1]
The Tusculum were a powerful Italian family from Rome.[2]
During the Middle Ages, the Tusculum were notable, including six who were popes:
- Pope John XI (931-935), grandson of Theophylactus of Tusculum[3]
- Pope John XII (955-964), son of Alberic II of Spoleto[4]
- Pope Benedict VII (974-983), nephew of Alberic II of Spoleto[5]
- Pope Benedict VIII (1012-1024), son of Gregory I, considered "the first of the Tusculum popes"[6]
- Pope John XIX (1024-1032), son of Gregory I[7]
- Pope Benedict IX (1032-1048), son of Alberic III[8]
Two of the Tusculum clerics are today known as antipopes:[9]
- Antipope Benedict X (1058-1059), son of Alberic III[10]
- Antipope Victor IV (1159-1164), born Octavius[11]
