Maximum break

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ronnie O'Sullivan holds the record for the highest number of maximum breaks in professional competition (15), and also the fastest (5 minutes and 8 seconds, set at the 1997 World Championship).

A maximum break is the highest break in snooker. It is also known as a maximum, a 147, or a one-four-seven.[a] To make the break, the player must play 26 shots in a row. Doing a maximum break is similar to a nine-dart finish in darts or a 300 game in ten-pin bowling.

List of official maximum breaks[change | change source]

Note: (Q) denotes maximums made during qualifying stages of events. (F) denotes maximums made in tournament finals.
