Oxford Industries

Oxford Industries, Inc. is a clothing company in the United States that sells expensive clothes. They have many well-known brands, like Tommy Bahama and Lilly Pulitzer.

The company was started in 1942 when three people bought a clothing company that made uniforms for the military.[1] In the 1960s, Oxford Industries became a part of the New York Stock Exchange.[1] The first chairman and CEO was Sartain Lanier, who retired in 1981. His son, J. Hicks Lanier, became the new chairman and CEO.[2]

Now, Oxford Industries makes more than $1 billion in sales and has over 4,700 employees.[1] They have offices in different parts of the world, including New York City, Seattle, and Hong Kong.[3]
