Pixar is a very popular animation studio, which is well known for its extremely advanced CGI productions. It has been a partner of Disney for many years and now is owned by the company. The company began life as a division of George Lucas' Lucasfilm in early 1979. It was bought for $10 million in 1986 by Steve Jobs, who was its chairman and CEO until he died in 2011.
