The Prix Goncourt is a French literary prize. It is awarded once a year. It has been awarded since 1903. It is given to the best "French literary work in prose" of the year. It is almost exclusively awarded to novels. Recently, other categories have been introduced. The prize is awarded in November. It is the oldest, and most prestigious French prize for literature.
