Confusing contradiction[change source]

On the one hand, the article states that "the electron cloud" is not really "a thing". Yet later in the article it is stated tthat the electron cloud is the accepted model for the atom.

Does that not qualify it as a "thing" ?

It is confusing when two parts of the same article appear to say opposite things.

Found this comment in the body of the text[change source]

(NB. The electron cloud model was derived when an attempt was made to try to determine the dipole moment of an electron. A hydrogen atom does not have a diploe moment unless an electro-magnetic field is applied across it. This wiki page needs to be corrected because it is a thing. I did the experiment in 3rd year physics lab and it is in all physics textbooks. Some people discount it because they do not want to accept it.)
