Paris Football Club is an association football club in Paris, France. The club was founded in 1969 and competes in Ligue 2. Paris plays at the Stade Charléty. The manager of the team by Denis Renaud and the captain of the club is Thomas Veldemann.
Paris FC have never been as good as another team of Paris, Paris Saint-Germain. The team has still made many amazing players. Some of these players are Jean-Christophe Thouvenel, Mamadou Sakho, Tijani Belaid, Aymen Belaïd, and Gabriel Obertan. Sakho and the Belaïd brothers have played for their national teams, and Thouvenel won a gold medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics. Manager Roger Lemerre started as a manager with the club before leading France to titles at UEFA Euro 2000 and the 2001 FIFA Confederations Cup.

To try to re-launch professional football in the city of Paris, Paris Football Club was founded on 1 August 1969. They wanted to be playing in the first division by 1970. They tried to merge with CS Sedan Ardennes but they didn't want do, so Paris went looking in the second division and then merged with Stade Saint-Germain to form Paris Saint-Germain. That is the professional club that currently plays in Ligue 1 today. The current Paris FC started in 1972 when the club split from Paris Saint-Germain because of the mayor of Paris who did not want to support a club that wasn't in Paris (the club had originally been in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, which is near Paris). Because of that, a bitter split happened and both Paris FC and Paris Saint-Germain remained as separate clubs with the main agreement being that Paris FC kept the right to be in the first division and professional status and all the professional players. Paris Saint-Germain were, on the other hand, were relegated to the third division and given all the amateur players.
At the beginning of the 1972–73 season, Paris were playing in the first division hosting matches at the Parc des Princes. Two seasons later, the club was relegated to the second division, which happened at the same time Paris Saint-Germain's being promoted to the first division and the getting the Parc des Princes. After four years of playing in Division 2, Paris was in first division again for the 1978–79 season. They went to Division 2 after one season. Paris FC have not played there ever since.
In 1983, Paris FC merged with Racing Club de France. While Racing stayed in the first division, Paris FC was relegated to the fourth division. They fell to the Division d'Honneur after one season and spent four seasons in the fifth division before returning to Division 4 in 1988. Another promotion the following season saw Paris earn a place in Division 3. Paris remained in the division for 12 years becoming one of the first members of the Championnat National. In 2000, the club finished 17th and were relegated to the Championnat de France amateur. Paris spent six years in the league before returning to National for the 2006–07 season. After a successful 2014-15 campaign, the club gained promotion to Ligue 2, the French second division with its local rival Red Star F.C.

On November 25, 2014 two entrepreneurs decided to take control of the club. Kayque Garbacchio Saldanha, co-owner of the Mumbai City FC, is son of a Russian billionaire and is a new sports investor. Sulaiman Al Fahim is director of Royal Football Fund, and has been owner of Manchester City and Portsmouth. They wish to set up a team to fight at the top of Ligue 1.[3][4]
