I need help!

[reply]

Hello Tharnton. Could you give an example? I am not quite sure what you mean. You need to use WP code, as you are on WP :P If you want to give me a link as to where you want a border I can help you out? Kennedy (talk) 09:03, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File talks

I've noticed you are starting discussions with objections to files/images used on here. The best place to raise those concerns are on the file's talk page on Commons, not on Simple. The reason is that we have no control over the image here, we just link to it. Either way (talk) 18:18, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Again, I've noticed you're still creating talk pages for images. These images are not hosted here, so the uploader of the image isn't going to see your comments. Posting "good photo" is unnecessary and in the wrong place anyway, Either way (talk) 19:45, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Thanks for the barnstar :). Cheers, Razorflame 21:07, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have written an apology for enWP here that I intend to present to the enWP community somehow and I would like some constructive criticism please. Please read the "letter" and comment on the "letter" here. Thank you.-- CM16 MLB  07:30, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I thank you for you comments, I will keep what you said in mind. Thanks.-- CM16 MLB  09:44, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

543Notnraht

You realize you haven't actually registered 543Notnraht, right? Either way (talk) 17:06, 17 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Er, yes. TurboGolf 17:06, 17 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Tharnton you should'nt be redirecting pages of accounts that do not exist. Another user may register that username. I am going to undo the change. Thanks, BG7even 17:11, 17 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Is it alright if I keep the userpage and talkpage of my IP redirected? TurboGolf 17:13, 17 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It depends if the IP address is "static" (i.e. it belongs to you and only you) or "dynamic" (it is given to others at times). If it is the latter then no. Thanks, BG7even 17:18, 17 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

Thank you for your support in my RfA which passed 24/0/0. I will do my best to better Wikipedia with the administrative tools that the community has seen fit to grant me. Special thanks to Shapiros10 for nominating me and if you ever need anything, feel free to ask! Malinaccier (talk) (review) 18:08, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Help!

What exactly do you mean? How do you make your signature in a font type (like Comic Sans, Helventia, Courier, etc.) other than the default setting? Either way (talk) 20:27, 17 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes please. TurboGolf 20:28, 17 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RfAs that have not been accepted yet

Please do not post RfAs on WP:RFA if the candidate has not even accepted the nomination yet, so I've removed both, Either way's and Bluegoblin7's RfAs. Adding RfAs to WP:RFA when they have not even been accepted is inappropriate. This causes confusion and users start to vote ahead of time. Please do not do this again. Thank you. — RyanCross (talk) 09:33, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your RFA

Your RFA has not yet been added to Wikipedia:Requests for adminship yet. I suggest you add that there when you are ready. Thanks, Either way (talk) 12:35, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your RFA...

Please don't take this as you are a bad editor. You are a good editor. Keep up your contributions, read the opposes, work on those. Come back and try again. If you need/want help, try my talk page. Keep up the good work. NonvocalScream (talk) 19:16, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RfA

Your fourth RfA has been closed per WP:SNOW. Cheers. ѕwirlвoy  19:16, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

QandA
 • The QandA. Every month, Kennedy interviews one of the Simple English Wikipedia's editors, asking them about themselves, and their opinions on Wikipedia. It is an exciting insight behind the anonymous face of an online username. This month is a bumper edition for QandA, as Kennedy was an idiot and forgot to load the interview last edition! This month will be Shapiros10 and Yotcmdr! Click for their interviews:

Re: Barnstar!

Thank you! My first barnstar. :) Juliancolton (talk) 05:29, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

oops

Good catch. I missed it. Best, NonvocalScream (talk) 05:41, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Signature

Thank you for the suggestion, but I'm afraid it's a bit too colorful for my taste. Thanks for the offer, though. Regards, Juliancolton (talk) 21:26, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

signatures

While we all appreciate that you're acting in good faith in creating signatures for people, might I suggest that you stop unless someone asks you to do it for them? I just noticed that Julian said "Thanks but no thanks" to you, and I know myself and a few others have done the same in the past. I suggest you wait for someone to ask you for one rather than just designing one for them. Thanks, Either way (talk) 21:38, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!

Thanks for the barnstars! I didn't notice them until now because I don't usually check my awards section of my userpage. In the future, could you please leave awards for me on my talk page please? Thanks! Razorflame 20:12, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thankspam

Thank you for voting in my recent RfA. Unfortunately, I have decided to withdraw from the RfA due to concerns brought up in the oppose votes. The final tally was 4 supports and 6 opposes. I would like to thank American Eagle for the nomination. Razorflame 22:06, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Archive Bot

Hey Tharnton,

How often would you like the bot to archive your page? I'll then set it up for you. All The Best, BG7even 17:41, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Each week, as the manual says. TurboGolf 17:42, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok,  Doing.... Give me about an hour. The bot runs once a day and by 00:00 UTC all posts older than a week will be gone. How would you like the archives arranged? By month (like mine) or by number (like Simple Talk)? Thanks, BG7even 17:45, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
By month, like you. TurboGolf 17:47, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. BG7even 17:51, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RfA Thankspam

Tharnton345/Archives/2009/January, thanks for your comments in my recent RfA which closed as 12/11 or "no consensus". I hope to work on the things that were raised and prove to the community that I am worthy of the mop, this includes showing my RL stability, that I don't have Ownership issues with DYK and also showing that I know what consensus is. Special thanks go to Kennedy for nominating me! Thanks for your comments! GoblinBot3 (talk)

Welcoming new users

Hi there. Please only welcome new users after they have made at least one good mainspace (meaning article) contribution. Thanks, Razorflame 19:45, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Errr...OK. I find that quite tricky to do, because it usually takes a long time until theyre first edit. And also, theyre first efit may e bad. TurboGolf 19:49, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It is actually pretty easy to do if you know what to look for: Any type of copyediting, and any interwiki additions are the two easiest ones to find and welcome. Also, don't be afraid to welcome IP addresses :). Razorflame 19:52, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA

Thank you for participating in my recent request for adminship, which passed with a total of 21/5. I will try to the best of my abilities to maintain the trust of the community, and I will carefully consider the opposes to learn how to further improve. Cheers, Juliancolton (talk) 14:03, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No personal attacks

Please don't call people "dope", it's a personal attack. Thanks, Majorly talk 20:03, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

ST

Please don't ask those sorts of questions on ST. It screams of attention seeking, and is certainly not what Simple talk is for. It is too far away to even think about anyway. Please increase your maturity if you wish to continue editing here. Thanks, PeterSymonds (talk) 21:17, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
