Uhwudong (어우동 ; c. 1440 - October 18 1480) was korean Joseon Dynasty gisaeng, writer, poet, Dancers. who lived during the reign of King Yejong and King Seongjong. ather name was Eeulwudong.
She was exceptional beauty, Sexual attractiveness dancer. she said to be charming, witty, very beautiful, and very smart. Her personal life has inspired movies, a TV series, operas, and many novels. She has become a one of modern popular cultural icon of Koreas.
Popular culture
In the late 20th century, Uhwudong's story began to attract attention from both sides of the Korean divide. Her life has been depicted through media including fiction, film and opera.
In late 1985, released a Movie film eoudong starring Lee Bo-hee in the title role. a ather film Kim Mun-hee was released on May 23, 1987. 2007, KBS released a TV series entitled Hwang Jin-i starring Kim Sa-rang.
