Adlai Ewing Stevenson III (October 10, 1930 – September 6, 2021) was an American politician of the Democratic Party. He represented the state of Illinois in the United States Senate from 1970 until 1981. His father was Governor Adlai Stevenson II and his grandfather was Vice President Adlai E. Stevenson.

Stevenson III was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 10, 1930.[1] He went to Milton Academy in Massachusetts, Harrow School, in England, and Harvard College. Stevenson had one son with his wife Nancy Anderson.

Stevenson died from problems caused by Lewy body dementia at his home in Chicago on September 6, 2021, at age 90.[2][3]
