Alex Ifeanyichukwu Ekwueme

Alex Ifeanyichukwu Ekwueme GCON (October 21, 1932 – November 19, 2017) was a Nigerian politician. He was the first elected Vice-President of Nigeria, in office from 1979 to 1983. Ekwueme served during the Shehu Shagari administration. He was born in the Anambra State. He was a member of the National Party of Nigeria.

Ekwueme died of complications from a fall at a hospital in London on November 19, 2017 at the age of 85.[1]
