Barbara Ann Deeks was born in Stepney, London, England on 6 August 1937,[1] as the only child[2] of Rose Alexandra Deeks[3] (née Ellis; 1912–1981)[4][5] and John Henry James Deeks (1915–2004).[6][7]
Personal life[change | change source]
Marriages and relationships[change | change source]
Windsor married Ronnie Knight, a nightclub owner, in Edmonton, Essex on 2 March 1964. They later separated and their divorce was finalised in January 1985.[8] Her Carry On films co-star Kenneth Williams, his mother and his sister accompanied Windsor and Knight on their honeymoon.[9] Windsor married Stephen Hollings, a chef and restaurateur, in Jamaica on 12 April 1986. They later separated and their divorce was finalised in 1995.[10] Windsor married Scott Mitchell, a former actor and recruitment consultant, in Westminster, London on 7 April 2000.[11][12]
Windsor had a one-night stand with East End criminal Reggie Kray.[13] She had a longer relationship with his elder brother Charlie Kray.[14] During the period of making her later Carry On films, she had a well-publicised affair with her fellow actor and co-star Sid James, lasting three years, which she ended in 1976.[15][16]
