Brenda Blethyn (born 20 February 1946) is a British actress. She was born and raised in Ramsgate, Kent, England. She has starred in theater, movies and television. She has been nominated for Academy Awards, Golden Globe Awards and Emmy Awards. She has won a Golden Globe Award and a BAFTA Award. Notable movies she has starred in include Secrets & Lies (1996).
