Carlo Lizzani (3 April 1922 – 5 October 2013)[1] was an Italian movie director, screenwriter and critic. He was born in Rome. He was known for his movies The Violent Four (1968) and Crazy Joe (1974) or crime-comedy Roma Bene (1971).

Lizzani committed suicide by jumping off the balcony of his house in Rome, aged 91.
