Carson is an unincorporated community in Jefferson Davis County, Mississippi, United States. It is on Mississippi Highway 42. The community is 6 miles (9.7 km) southeast of Prentiss, Mississippi.[2] Carson has a post office with ZIP code 39427.[3]

Carson was a part of Covington County before Jefferson Davis County was created.[4] A post office was first opened under the name Carson in 1900.[5] Carson is on the former Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. It used to have six general stores, two sawmills and many lumber camps.[6]
