Joseph Allen "Country Joe" McDonald (born January 1, 1942)[1] is an American musician, singer and political activist. He was the lead singer of the 1960s psychedelic rock group Country Joe and the Fish.[2] He is known for his role during the Free Speech Movement in Berkeley, California and for his songs during the Counterculture of the 1960s.
