Daniel James Licht (March 13, 1957 – August 2, 2017) was an American movie composer and musician. He was born in Massachusetts and raised in Detroit, Michigan.

Licht was best known for composing the score for Showtime TV drama series, Dexter and for the movie Children of the Night. He was also known for composing the video game score of Silent Hill.

Licht died on August 2, 2017 in Los Angeles, California of liposarcoma at the age of 60.[1]
