Darren S. Aronofsky (born February 12, 1969 in Brooklyn, New York) is an American movie director. His best known movies that he has directed are Requiem for a Dream, The Wrestler and Black Swan. He attended Harvard University where he graduated in 1991 and majored in social anthropology. He is has Ukrainian and Russian ancestry. He was raised culturally Jewish.[1][2]
