Dimitris Tsovolas

Dimitris Tsovolas (Greek: Δημήτριος Τσοβόλας; 4 September 1942 – 25 February 2022) was a Greek politician and lawyer. He was Minister of Finance from 1985 to 1989 during the Andreas Papandreou government. Tsovolas was born in Melissourgoi, Greece. He was a member of the Hellenic Parliament from 1977 until 1992 and again from 1996 until 2000. In 1995, he founded the Democratic Social Movement. He was the party's leader until 2004.

Tsovolas died on 25 February 2022 at a hospital in Athens, Greece from stomach cancer, aged 79.[1]
