EKI Energy Services Limited (EKI) is a company that provides climate change advisory services and is based in Indore, India. It has a strong global presence and started its operations in 2008 as a proprietorship firm before becoming a closely held public limited company in 2011. On April 7, 2021, EKI Energy shares were listed on the BSE SME Platform.

The company's main focus is on developing projects to reduce carbon emissions and mobilizing carbon credits for the global market. It has customers in more than 40 countries and offices in 17 countries. As of now, EKI has mobilized over 200 million offsets.

History

EKI was founded in 2008 and later expanded its services related to carbon emissions. Over the next seven years, it helped Indian and foreign businesses register for carbon credits.

Initially, the company generated revenue through consulting fees. However, due to factors like low market awareness, declining credit prices, and issues with the carbon trading mechanism, the carbon credit market became less appealing to businesses. Despite these challenges, EKI continued to grow and eventually became a closely held public limited company, expanding its operations.

In November 2020, EKI expressed its intention to have an Initial Public Offering (IPO) and in January 2021, it declared its plan to be listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange to expand its business both within and outside India.

In January 2022, the company achieved a valuation of $1 billion.
