Eduardo Suplicy

Eduardo Matarazzo Suplicy (born June 21, 1941) is a Brazilian left-wing politician, economist and professor. He is one of the founders and main political figures on the Workers Party of Brazil (PT). He was born in São Paulo. In 2017, he was elected to the city council of São Paulo. He held that office before between 1989 to 1990.

Suplicy was elected State Deputy of São Paulo in 1979. In 1983, he became a member of the Chamber of Deputies. Leaving office in 1987, he became a Senator in 1991. He left the Senate in 2015.[1]
