Edwardsville, home to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) is a city in Madison County, Illinois, United States. As of the 2018, the population was 24,969.[1] It is the county seat of Madison County.[2] The city was named in honor of Ninian Edwards, then Governor of the Illinois Territory.
