"Euphoria" is a song performed by Swedish singer Loreen. It was released on 26 February 2012 as the third single from her debut studio album, Heal. The song was written by Thomas G:son, Peter Boström and produced by Boström and SeventyEight. It represented Sweden [en] in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Reception

"Euphoria" received positive reviews from most music critics. The song was an instant success both in Sweden and in the rest of Europe. It debuted at number twelve in Sweden, before reaching number one, staying there for six weeks. The song has been certified 10 times Platinum, selling 400,000 copies there. Outside of Sweden, the song peaked at number one in 16 countries across Europe, the most chart-topping positions of any Eurovision winner.

Eurovision Song Contest

In November 2011 it was confirmed that Loreen was taking part in Melodifestivalen, Sweden's national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012. Loreen performed her song during the first heat which took place on 4 February 2012 at the VIDA Arena, Växjö, she won the heat and advanced to the final which took place on 10 March 2012 at the Globe Arena in Stockholm, she won the final winning both jury and televote. At Eurovision, Sweden competed in the second semi-final which took place on 24 May 2012, the song finished 1st with 181 points to advance to the grand final which took place on 26 May 2012, the song won the contest with 372 points.[1]
