The Evin Prison fire happened on October 15, 2022 around 10:00 local time at the Evin Prison in Tehran, Iran. The fire happened in the fifth week of protests against the Death of Mahsa Amini.[2] At least 8 prisoners were killed and 61 others were injured.[3]

Evin Prison is known to hold political activists and journalists, as well as dual and foreign nationals.[4]
