Fábio Barreto (born June 6, 1957) is a Brazilian movie director, actor, screenwriter, and movie producer. He is best known for directing and co-writing Lula, o filho do Brasil, a biography based on President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's early life.

Barreto slipped into a coma after being involved in a car accident in Rio de Janeiro in 2009.[1] As of August 2014, is reported to be in a minimally conscious state.[2]
