Francesco Rosi (15 November 1922 10 January 2015) was an Italian movie director, producer and screenwriter.

He is the father of actress Carolina Rosi. He is known for his 1979 movie Christ Stopped at Eboli. He won the Golden Prize at the 11th Moscow International Film Festival.[1]

Rosi was born in Naples and died in Rome.[2] The Truce was his last film.[3]
