Old covered bridge

Hasle-Rüegsau is the name of the railway station, the post office, the secondary school, and the retirement home. The place Hasle-Rüegsau does not exist. There is a village called Hasle bei Burgdorf, and one called Rüegsau. As they are small, these villages share the cost of running these services, so they have the name of both villages. Each village has about 3.2000 people living there. Some of the associations there also use Hasle-Rüegsau. The river Emme is the border between the villages. There is an old wooden bridge with a span of 60.15 metres (197.3 ft). It connects the two villages. It is the longest bridge of this type in Europe.
