J1407b

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

J1407b is an exoplanet with a ring system 200x bigger than the rings of Saturn. It is also known as a "Super Saturn".

It is a gas giant, theoretically consisting of hydrogen and helium, like Saturn. The distance is 433.8 light years from earth, and it's an incredibly young planet as young as 16.01 million years. Some of it's rings are becoming moons because of the gravity. Some scientists think that it's a brown dwarf star. It orbits the j1407. J1407b has 37 rings.

It was spotted by an astronomer in 2012 named Eric Mamajek. J1407b is located in the constellation of Centaurus.
