Jamie Babbit

Jamie Babbit (born November 16, 1970) is an American movie director, producer and screenwriter. She directed the movies But I'm a Cheerleader and The Quiet. She also directed certain episodes of Gilmore Girls, Malcolm in the Middle and The L Word.[1]

In 1999, Babbit's movie But I'm a Cheerleader was given an NC-17 by the Motion Picture Association of America because of lesbian scenes. Seven years later, Babbit went on This Film Is Not Yet Rated about her experience with the MPAA.

Babbit was born in the Cleveland area of northern Ohio.[2]
