Jezebel is a 1938 American drama movie. It stars Bette Davis and Henry Fonda. It was directed by William Wyler. The movie was based on a play by Owen Davis, Sr. Bette Davis won the Best Actress Academy Award for her performance. The movie was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry in 2009.
The movie is set in Louisiana before the American Civil War. The story is about a headstrong young woman. She makes a social blunder that costs her the love of her fiancé. She finds redemption in nursing him during a yellow fever epidemic.
