James Hood (16 May 1948 – 4 December 2017) was a Scottish Labour Party politician. He was the Member of Parliament (MP) from 1987 until 2015. He represented the Clydesdale constituency until 2005, and the Lanark and Hamilton East thereafter.

Hood died on 4 December 2017 of a heart attack in Lanarkshire, Scotland, aged 69.[1]
