John Bel Edwards (born September 16, 1966) is an American attorney and Democratic Party politician. He is the Governor of Louisiana since January 2016.[1] He was elected on November 21, 2015. He was a member of and the Minority Leader of the Louisiana House of Representatives, having represented the 72nd District from 2008 through 2016.

Edwards was born in Amite City, Louisiana.[2]
