John Hawkes (born John Marvin Perkins; September 11, 1959) is an American actor and musician. His best known movie appearances are the Academy Award nominated role as Teardrop in Winter's Bone and his Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award nominated role as Mark O'Brien in The Sessions. On television, he is known for his role as Sol Star on the HBO television shows Deadwood and as Dustin Powers on Eastbound & Down.

Hawkes was born in Alexandria, Minnesota.[1]
