Lise Thiry

Lise Thiry (born 5 February 1921) is a Belgian scientist and politician. She was voted as one of the top 100 Belgians on a television show on the Belgian French-speaking public channel RTBF. Thiry was born in Liège, Belgium. She worked as a researcher and virologist at the Pasteur Institute and looked for ways to detect AIDS.[1] In 1990, she became a Senator.[2]

Thiry turned 100 in February 2021.[3]
