Moirang Sai

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Moirang Sai" is a story telling art form of Manipur that narrates the epic love story of the Khamba Thoibi of Ancient Moirang, a province in Ancient Manipur.[1][2] Currently, it is dying among the present generation of the Manipuri ethnicity.[1] Recently, Mangka Mayanglambam, a legendary folk singer, is reviving the nearly extinct music art form.[3][4][5] After her dedicated efforts, there have been consecutive workshops organized to preserve the age old tradition by many organizations and associations of Manipur.[6][7]
