Monte Carlo Casino

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Casino Monte-Carlo, officially called Casino de Monte-Carlo, is a gambling and entertainment place located in Monaco. The Casino de Monte-Carlo is owned and operated by the "Société des bains de mer de Monaco". The idea of opening a gambling casino in Monaco came from Princess Carolina, the wife of Prince Florestan.[1] The company's money was supposed to save the House of Grimaldi from bankruptcy.

In 1921, the first Women’s Olympiad was held at the casino gardens.
