"Mr. Carter" is the second song off of American rapper Lil Wayne's sixth studio album Tha Carter III. The song was released on May 27, 2008. The song also featured American rapper Jay-Z.

The song was able to make it to #13 on the Hot Rap Songs, #27 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, and #32 on the Billboard Hot 100.[1][2][3] The song was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).[4] It was nominated for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group at the 51st Grammy Awards but lost to "Swagga Like Us" by Jay-Z and T.I. featuring Kanye West and Lil Wayne.[5]

The song's title is refers to the fact that both rappers have the same last name. In the song, Wayne raps about his rise and success in hip hop and says that he won't be stopped by people who don't like him. Wayne and Jay rap about how they are known Worldwide and Wayne says that he won't ever give up.
